[Geoserver-devel] Going forward with GSIP 11

Hi all,

I would like to go forward with GSIP 11, which is just reorganizing our svn repository in to the structure discussed.

So I need all developers on 1.5.x and trunk "out of the pool". I am the only one on trunk so that should be ok. How about Andrea, Simone, Alessio, and Brent?

I'm out of pool.
The only people comitting to it recently I think are Andrea and I.

Hi all,

I am done changing the directory structure in the repository, and updating the config plugin.

I have only added the minimal configuration the repository. I tried adding basic and release but I got some file encoding problems ( odd with binary data  ) so I figure i will leave it up to the experts to add those.

The "web" directory is now externally linked to the minimal configuration, so people should still be able to build the source tree out of the box without checking out any of the configurations.

So to update:

1. Check out a new copy of the geoserver tree
2. Make sure you rebuild the maven/config module
3. Update the web/pom.xml to and set the "configDirectory" to reflect the "configuration" directory that was checked out in step 1
4. Build the way you used to, specifying -DconfigId on the command line, or by setting it as a property in the web pom.xml.

I am going to update the developer docs.

Nice stuff Justin - especially the svn external link propset (I have never seen that before).

Doing a fresh checkout and install of GeoAPI, GeoTools trunk and GeoServer trunk goes well ...

right up until:

PS. I will confess I am using Java 5 right now (in order to look at ISO Geometry).

Hi Jody,

Everything should compile now. However there is a test case failure in the "test" module. So if you really want to build you will have to turn tests off :).

Whoopsy, I have some outstanding geotools commits to make. My apologies, fixing now, the build should be up shortly.

I'd suggest everybody to do a mvn clean and remove any uncommitted files

Cheers

Doh, remember to do an mvn eclipse:clean too to remove eclipse project
files.
