[Geoserver-devel] GSIP 119 - wps async clustering - base refactor ready

Hi,
the refactors proposed in GSIP 119 have been completed and are ready in a pull
request.
Links:

Compared to the proposal the main difference is that one metho of the status store
used to allow listing by Filter, but in the implementation it does so by Query instead.
From this:

/**

  • Retrieves process statuses based on a given condition
    */
    List list(Filter filter);

to this:

/**

  • Retrieves process statuses based on the given conditions. The store should honor the filter,
  • sorting and paging conditions, ignoring the others
    */
    List list(Query query);

As you can see from the javadoc, this is mostly to allow paging of statuses, as they might
eventually become a lot in a busy server, even if we keep around only an hour or them
(the cleanup of the status is linked to the cleanup of the asynch process resources).

I’m now looking at implementing a shared status storage, hopefully it will be Hazelcast
based, with a DBMS being a second option… let’s see if we can manage to have some
“newer” technology for once.
This will be a new wps-cluster-xywz module (wps-cluster-hazelcast or wps-cluster-dbms),
which I was thinking of adding direclty in the wps module, as it would be a pretty simple bit
of software.
