[Geoserver-devel] GSIP#2, code formatting

Hi all,
so, how are doing with GSIP#2?
I see 4 official votes on the GSIP#2 page.

I can hunt the old jalopy code formatting file, eventually remove the javadocs
reformat options (since they have a nasty tendency to break jalopy), add jalopy
to the build and do the big reformat during the weekend when nobody else is
hacking on it.

How does this sound?
Cheers

good for me

The formatting file should be posted up and viewed by everyone so we can discuss how we want it to format. This way we can avoid multiple bulk formats while everyone is getting used to the new style.

But doing it on a weekend is a good idea.

I think there were a few more votes on irc and email. I'd posit that it's the responsibility of the gsip maintainer to gather the votes from the various places and put them in the 'voting history' section (I think that's what we called it). But 4 is enough votes, so go for it.

Ok, I've attached a slightly modified version of the old jalopy format options
to the GSIP#2 page. I only changed the line wrapping (100 columns)
and the configuration name (the old file still contained "Geotools Java Coding Convention").

Still, this config has public members reordering active, not sure I like it...
