[Geoserver-devel] GSIP 43

I'd like to get back in track with the discussion on GSIP 43.

I have done some minor editing to the proposal page since I would
account for the possibility to use a *release team* lead by a *release
manager*. In principle the release team could be just the release
manager but the possiblity to have this spli between a release team
and the release manager would allow me to better use my resources.

Besides this minor thing, I am happy with the rest of the things; I am
not going to mention the monthly IRC meeting on the proposal page
since I don't think it would add much value while still it is an
option that we can take anytime withouth too much burocracy.

Now, do we need more discussion to refine this proposal or we can move
forward? I am actually sick, therefore I might have lost some of steps
that brought us here, if so please, advise and correct me.

Ciao,
Simone

Hey, sorry for the late answer.

I'm ok with the idea of a release team. We sort of have already that
in place with a release manager and the testing team, but other people
can join and help out.

As for the timing, what about we say that tentatively we'd like to have
bi-monthly releases, but actual release dates will follow resource
availability? We'll do them more often or less often depending on
what resources we have (e.g, we might be able to fund a release
just after a month of the last one because some paying customer
wants a certain fix/feature in a released edition).

As for being sick, me too, the discussion became too long.
Do you have time to amend the GSIP? Otherwise I may find time to do
so on Friday.

Cheers
Andrea
