About GSIP 73, following the comments of Andrea, my major concern is to be careful breaking the ResourceAccessManager mechanism.
I guess we should go toward a direction where GeoServer has it’s own internal security mechanism, but also allows to easily extend it and also completely override, since in many real use cases, especially in enterprise architectures.
