Hi friends,
My name is Vignesh Prabhu and I am interested in participating in GSoC15
under GeoServer project. I am a student of Master of Engineering at
UVCE, Bangalore, India. I have been using GeoServer along with Geowave
for last two weeks and have now got some familiarity with it. Geowave
provides a plugin for geoserver using which a data store can be created
in geoserver to access data ingested into Accumulo.
In geoserver, I am interested in working on the "CITE Certification
Tests" project idea which is shared on the GSoC15 Project Ideas section.
I would like to know how I can get started on this. Currently I am going
through the TeamEngine documentation. I am proficient in Java and have
worked for 3 years on Junit testing framework for a proprietary software
company before I joined for my masters. My blog is here[1] and my github
profile is here[2]. Lately I was contributing to Torbirdy[3] which is a
Thunderbird Addon and have submitted patches for 3 bugs[4][5][6].
Apart from this, I am also a volunteer of a group called Free Software
Movement Karnataka[7] which aims at spreading Free Software ideology to
various sections of society and help bridge digital divide. In that, I
mainly contribute to support in starting new GNU/Linux User's group in
various engineering colleges in and around Bangalore.
As GSoC allows participants to apply under multiple organizations, I
would also like to mention here that as part of GSoC15, I am also
applying for GeoWave project which comes under The Eclipse Foundation.
I am looking forward to work with all the developers of geoserver and
making some meaningful contributions to the project. Please do let me
know how to proceed.
