Hi Ivy I was away when you sent this email ... the instructions there are for linux. They should work just the same in your windows command prompt though.
If you just want to look at the source code you will find it is available as a separate download.
Cheers,
Jody

Sir Garnett,
I'm a University student majoring in GIS, and I've recently downloaded GeoServer 1.5.0. I've successfully installed the software and and run it. However, there are some problems I met when I tried to see the code of the GeoServer.
In the "*GeoServer Documentation : 2 Maven Quickstart*", there says that:
/Execute the following command: /
/[/dev/geoserver]% svn checkout svn://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/branches/1.4.x ./
// but I don't know where to execute the command. is it to the dos-windows of the "start GeoServer"? but I cannot type any letters in that dos window.
same question applies on the "*GeoServer Documentation : 3 Eclipse Quickstart*", which says
// /"Importing GeoServer Modules into Eclipse/
/From the root of GeoServer source tree, execute the following maven command: //[/dev/geoserver]% mvn eclipse:eclipse/
can you tell me,what dose *GeoServer source tree *means?
and where can I execute the command?
I've installed the Subversion and Java JDK.
If the questions above are difficult to understand or to answer it clearly, then can you simply tell me the structure of GeoServer? what does it based on? What technology does it applies? such as "MO" or "API" or "TCP/IP" or something like that.
Thank you very much. and expecting your answers
best wishes,
Ivy
