Hi,
this pull request contains documentation for the REST api, and a fix to use the DataStore
API fully instead of working around it:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/pull/939
The docs contain a reference, with as much information as I could piece toghether from
the two old rest/md documents, code inspections and interactive tests.
There is also a brief tutorial using CURL, showing how to import a directory of shapefiles,
and how to take a CSV, upload it, map its x/y columns to a geometry, and import
it into PostGIS.
Code wise I noticed during my tests that the importer was trying to drop a schema from
a store detecting a JDBCStore and manually issuing drop table statements.
This is … uh… ugly, for some JDBC stores just a drop table is not enough (Oracle,
we need to clean some metadata tables) and dropSchema might be supported on stores
other than databases, so I’ve changed the call to just use removeSchema instead.
I guess this code has been written against a old GeoTools API that did not yet have
removeSchema? Or am I missing some other reason?
Anyways, let me know if you want to review the pull request.
Cheers
Andrea
