Hi,
nightly builds are proving to be a very effective
way to deal with users eager to try out Geoserver.
Good, but at the same time it's hard to spot what
nightly a user is really running (sometimes users
give me a direct access to their server for tests,
and I have to try and guess what version of the
nightly they are running by looking at recently
implemented features/fixes).
Do you know of any way to sneak a date or the current
global revision number into a file so that it
can be picked up by a jsp and shown?
I know we can have svn expand the version number
of the last modification in a file, but that would
not be the current revision, right?
Cheers
Andrea

That might work. The nightly build script updates its local checkout before building... so would it not be the current revision.
It should be easy enough to run a little search and replace on the welcome.jsp page to change the version to include the timestamp of the current build... I will look into this.
Cheers
