[Geoserver-devel] inspire community module

Hi all,

In conjunction with the wms 1.3 work that is going on I would also like to add a new community module named “inspire”. The point of which is to add inspire specific metadata extensions to the wms capabilities document (wms extended capabilities stuff).

The idea is that the admin can edit some very basic fields through the ui and teh extension will augment the wms capabilities document. This involves the ExtendedCapabilitiesProvider extension point that is part of the core WMS 1.3 proposal.

In support of this however, another web extension point is also required to be able to allow a plugin to add panel extensions to the regular service admin pages. In this specific case the inspire module will add a new “INSPIRE” panel extension to allow the admin to fill out the metadata.

I created a jira issue for the extension point with a patch that lives here:

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4261

It is pretty straight forward so i did not go so far as to create a GSIP for it. But i am happy to if people think one is required.

Works for me, no need for a GSIP imho
+1

+1. No need for a GSIP. The changes needed for this to work were
approved as part of GSIP-56.

Cheers,
Gabriel
