[Geoserver-devel] [jira] Created: (GEOS-1218) Shapefile with thousands of points not entirely served by GeoServer

Shapefile with thousands of points not entirely served by GeoServer
-------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: GEOS-1218
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1218
             Project: GeoServer
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: WMS
    Affects Versions: 1.5.1
Environment: Using OpenLayers to load the problematic GeoServer WMS layer. GeoServer 1.5.1 running over Debian Sarge.
            Reporter: Alexandre Leroux
            Assignee: Gabriel Roldán
            Priority: Minor
         Attachments: data.tar.gz

I have a shapefile with thousands of points served by GeoServer 1.5.1 (I know these should be included in a PostGIS database instead, but we're in prototyping phase ;-). The problem is the shapefile through WMS is missing half of the points (right hand side, so higher longitudes). However, if I zoom in the area where there's no points showed by GeoServer while there should be, the points are there.

Seems to me like GeoServer fails to load the entire shapefile when there is a very large number of points for a specific extent.

I joined a copy of the data to this bug report. This shapefile has no .prj (that's how it was given to me). There's 117,000 points in there. I specified the EPSG 4326 in GeoServer and it load at the right place in OpenLayers through WMS.

Thanks
