[Geoserver-devel] [jira] Created: (GEOS-1302) USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA not being read when login is not data owner

USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA not being read when login is not data owner
-------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: GEOS-1302
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1302
             Project: GeoServer
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Oracle
    Affects Versions: 1.5.3
Environment: Windows XP Pro, Oracle XE
            Reporter: Jeff Hobbs
            Assignee: Andrea Aime

I have data in SCHEMA1. All of the pertinent metadata is completed in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA for SCHEMA 1. I've created a user named MYUSER. MYUSER has select privs on some of the tables in SCHEMA1. When I'm trying to create a new feature in the admin, I'm getting the following error:

"No geometry column for srid in table: FIRE_HYDRANT, geometry column GDO_GEOMETRY, be sure column is defined in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA"

When I change the user from MYUSER to SCHEMA1, the error goes away.

I've even tried to build the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA metadata in the MYUSER schema referencing "SCHEMA1.FIRE_HYDRANT" as the table name. This does not solve the problem.

In the connection settings, I have SCHEMA1 set as the schema.

This is likely caused by the ‘USER’ part of that view – the solution is likely to have the Oracle driver read from ALL_SDO_GEOM_METADATA.
