Editing a SLD from Gentoo server with english locales provides wrong wrong characters on the specified encoding of the sld context.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-1401
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1401
Project: GeoServer
Issue Type: Bug
Components: UI
Affects Versions: 1.6.0-beta3
Environment: Linux server
Reporter: Cédric Briançon
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Priority: Trivial
On a gentoo server for which locales are english, when I edit a style with french characters like "é" (e with an accent), I get a "?" character instead of the french characters.
However I've specified in the SLD context "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>", the encoding character used is the default server locale.
A possible workaround may be to change the server system locale, but geoserver could probably try to display the edited sld in the specified encoding character chosen in the sld.
