Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-150
Summary: Bounding Box for tables that have no geometries does not let you pass go.
Type: Bug
Status: Open
Priority: Minor
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: GeoServer
Components:
Struts
Fix Fors:
1.2.0
Versions:
1.2-beta
Assignee: Richard Gould
Reporter: Chris Holmes
Created: Wed, 7 Apr 2004 9:48 AM

Description:
If you try to add a table that does not have a geometry with the ui (which should be a fine thing to do, even though it is a geographic server), then when you hit submit it tells you that all fields of the bounding box are required. Ok, that's fine, so you put in some variables, but even then it doesn't let you submit it, it keeps saying that it's required, even though you do have variables there. It should just let you add the featureType (ideally with blank values, but at least with some made up values from the user, it does not appear to even let you do that).
