Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-172
Summary: Adjustable srs style in output GML
Type: Improvement
Status: Open
Priority: Minor
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: GeoServer
Components:
WFS
Fix Fors:
1.2.0
Versions:
1.2.0-rc1
Assignee: Chris Holmes
Reporter: Chris Holmes

Updated: Fri, 4 Jun 2004 1:35 AM
Description:
It looks like a number of clients assume that the srs reported in gml will be of the style srsName="EPSG:4326" instead of the srsName="http:////www.opengis.net/gml/srs/epsg.xml#4326", which is what the wfs spec says. We need to investigate the gml spec to see what is the 'correct' way, but I think it would be nice for interoperability purposes to support the other epsg style, as CadCorp did things this way (they now have a patch to support it), and I believe this is where Deegree falls short as well. Not sure if we want to switch everything over, but we can just make it a user config option.
