Uninstall of GeoServer removes %GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR% environment variable
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-1926
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1926
Project: GeoServer
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Configuration
Affects Versions: 1.6.3
Environment: Windows (all)
Reporter: Mike Pumphrey
Assignee: Mike Pumphrey
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 1.6.5
Using the GeoServer uninstaller automatically unregisters the environment variable. This isn't necessarily a problem, unless one has more than one instance of GeoServer installed (which I'd imagine is not out of line, even for non-developers). When this happens, other versions of GeoServer installed will fail when started.
----------------------------------
- GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR: C:\Program Files\GeoServer 1.6.3\%GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR%
----------------------------------
15 May 11:10:01 ERROR [geoserver.global] - Can't access the configuration directory. Reason: Folder does not exist: %GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR%
I suggest adding a dialog box on uninstall to query for this to not happen.
If you feel like this is a feature and not a bug, please comment.
