corrupted tile in GWC
---------------------
Key: GEOS-2313
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2313
Project: GeoServer
Issue Type: Bug
Components: GWC
Affects Versions: 1.6.5
Environment: Debian 4.0RC4 Sun Java SDK 1.6.2
Reporter: EJ
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Attachments: 0167_0254.png, geoserver-tile-corrupt.txt, png-formaat.txt
GeoServer reports about a currupted tile.
Deleting the offending tile wil get rid of the error and i believe GWC recreates the tile without problems.
Letting the corrupted tile sit in the cache leads to unpredictable results.
I also noticed a change in format for the PNG header.
I investigated the PNG in hexedit, and i noticed that there were some zeroes before the PNG signature.
Later i found out that other tiles i examined had zeroes before the PNG sig "89 50 4E 47".
Is the "string" of 7 x "00", 1 x "C8" and 8 x "00" added to empty PNG's within the PNG file itself?
Maybe that string was added because of this new feature: "Adds expiration header to empty PNG, to avoid repeated requests." @ http://geowebcache.org/trac/log/trunk?rev=339
The added bytes in my PNG are 16 bytes long so that matches with the expected 16 bytes not being found.
