Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-293
Summary: A style gets removed after updating it with an invalid .sld file.
Type: Bug
Status: Open
Priority: Major
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: GeoServer
Versions:
1.2.3
Assignee: Chris Holmes
Reporter: Paul Duff
Created: Sat, 19 Feb 2005 5:32 PM
Updated: Sat, 19 Feb 2005 5:32 PM
Environment: Mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2, Geoserver 1.2.3(Binary), Java 1.4.2. PostgreSQL 7.4.5 with PostGIS 0.9.
Description:
Repro Steps.
1. Add a new style using the web interface and upload a valid .sld file.
2. Edit the .sld file to make it invalid (for example, taking out a / from a closing tag is how I got this to fail)
3. Update the newly created style with the invalid .sld file.
4. Restart Geoserver.
RESULTS.
The style is missing from the drop down on the "Styles Configuration" page. The style is also removed from the catalog.xml file.
Bug found on Version 1.2.3, I haven't tried it on other versions.
