[Geoserver-devel] [jira] Created: (GEOS-343) Get GeoServer certified as WFS 1.0 Compliant

Get GeoServer certified as WFS 1.0 Compliant
--------------------------------------------

         Key: GEOS-343
         URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-343
     Project: GeoServer
        Type: Task
    Reporter: Chris Holmes
Assigned to: dblasby
     Fix For: 1.3.0

GeoServer is the official OGC WFS reference implementation, as part of the CITE initiative, yet we're not officially certified. We can get this done for free, just need to fill out some forms. Should probably make contact with them again. Would be very nice to get this done before MUM - we can put all sorts of official OGC pictures on our site after. Here's the email I received about it, just need to follow things up and fax and send letters (I was in Brazil at the time, which made the task just too much):

Chris,
Definitely! I do however, need to treat it exactly like every other
product submission... except for price :). Do you still have a CITE
session saved? If so please send me the test results, you can do this
within your manage test session options in the CITE Portal.

The process is described in the OGC Compliance Testing Program Document:
MS Word - http://www.opengis.org/resources/testing/docs/03-085r1.doc
or PDF - http://www.opengis.org/resources/testing/docs/03-085r1.pdf

Within this documentation you will find a checklist on page 14 that
should be helpful. Basically I need the following...
1) The test results (submitted via the CITE Portal as mentioned above)
2) A signed hard copy of the Test Summary Report (Appendix A from the
Compliance Testing Program Document)
3) A copy of the software for archival purposes (I'll go ahead and
download a copy from sourceforge so don't worry about this)
4) 2 signed hard copies of the Trademark License Agreement (Appendix E
from the Compliance Testing Program Document) one will be returned to
you after signing.
Please use $0 as the official fee.

Please FAX item 2 to me at 812-334-0625

Item 4 should be sent to:

Open GIS Consortium, Inc
ATTN: Jeff Burnett
35 Main Street, Suite 5
Wayland, Massachusetts 01778-5037 USA

After receiving these items OGC will send you a certificate of
compliance and hopefully we can get some OGC Compliance Logos up on the
geoserver page!
If you have any questions whatsoever don't hesitate to email or call.

Sincerely,
Mark

Hey, for some reason TOPP never got around to submitting geoserver to the
compliant project page. I just put it in, but I was wondering if we could
get it marked as Compliant instead of just implementing. I believe that
part of the CITE project was that as the reference implementation we would
get certified for free. Would that be possible?

best regards,

Chris Holmes
