[Geoserver-devel] [jira] Created: (GEOS-4046) SHAPE-ZIP output format - allow parameter for output file name

SHAPE-ZIP output format - allow parameter for output file name
--------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: GEOS-4046
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4046
             Project: GeoServer
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: WFS
    Affects Versions: 2.0.2
            Reporter: Aleda Freeman
            Assignee: Andrea Aime
            Priority: Minor

It would be nice to be able to include an output file name for data extract.
For example, if I extract one town in a shapefile from a MA Towns layer:

http://giswebservices.massgis.state.ma.us/geoserver/wfs?request=getfeature&outputformat=SHAPE-ZIP&service=WFS&version=1.1.0&typeName=massgis:GISDATA.TOWNS_POLY&CQL_FILTER=>TOWN\_ID=65

It would be nice to call it cohasset.zip for example, instead of GISDATA.TOWNS_POLY.zip.

Then we could supply a list of links on a web page which subset the data and users would get appropriately named shapefiles for each one instead of needing to rename them each time.
