Layer's name accept the '&' character but there is a bug when trying to see the preview of a layer whose name contains that character.

Create a resource and name it such as it contains the ampersand character.
Now, try to preview that layer from Group Layer page.
Instead of opening a new tab with OpenLayers, it will download a WMS file.
