GetCapabilities doesn't work with Internet Explorer

Making a wfs getCapabilities request in Internet Explorer (v8) from GeoServer build :

will get a prompt "Cannot Start Application - Cannot continue. The application is impropertly formatted. Contact the application vendor for assistance." Click on the detail button will give you the following error :
