The GeoServer Documentation landing page (docs.geoserver.org) is outdated.
Furthermore, it is not tracked in version control, meaning that there is no way of updating it at this time.

I suggest we:

  1. Add it to the GeoServer github repository. Since it is a disambiguation page for all versions of our documentation (and since the only existing version of the page is pure html), it should live outside of the sphinx build tree - probably at either /doc/index.html or /doc/en/index.html
  2. Update the GeoServer master doc build (and only master) to also push this file to the doc server. No need to create a new build just to deploy this file, even if it technically isn’t part of the master docs.
