Geoserver ignores nested layer group security, it only considers the top layer group. > workspace [ROLE1, ROLE2] >> layer_group [ROLE1, ROLE2] >>> layer_group [ROLE1] (ignored by Geoserver) >>>> layer ROLE1 and ROLE2 will have access to the layer instead of only ROLE1.
