Right now the image mosaic grabs full features from the index and loads them in memory, even if only a small part of the attributes is actually used (filtering happens on the index regardless, but a few attributes, such as CRS or imageindex, are used also for image processing). This is not a problem for classic indexes, focused on the image mosaic needs, but can be detrimental when the index also has other usages and the feature type is comple (e.g. STAC Items, with tens of properties and large attributes like “assets”). |
