The home page gets stuck for a very long time against either huge catalogs (e.g… 100k layers), or largeones with a lot of security rules (e…g, 20k layers and 40k rules). This happens as the home page tries to count the accessible workspaces/layers, as well as trying to fill the workspace/layer dropdowns.

Once the page returns, its contents are excessively large, causing troubles to browsers.

Objectives:

  • Allow controlling whether the count and dropdown filling happens at all (disabling them would result in a page without count and with simple text fields for selection)
  • By default, automatically adapt to the situation and decide whether to use drop downs and report counts based on a maximum response time (e.g. 5 seconds) and maximum number of items in the page
