Description:

I have a layer group of over a dozen ocean shapefiles from Natural Earth, but there is a bug where the advertised layer checkbox in the GUI is checked for each of the layers, however the layer does not show up in the capabilities file when doing a getCapabilities WMS request. Each time I restart GeoServer, I have to uncheck advertised for each layer, and then recheck it, before each particular layer shows up.

Environment:

Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB memory, dual core laptop, Google Chrome browser.
