Description:

A preview button on the “Add new Styles” page. It would basically make a “getLegendGraphic” request for what is currently in the SLD text box and return the graphic, much as the Layer->“publishing” tab does.

The returned graphic could be below the current validate/submit/cancel buttons (just a thought).
If the request fails, instead of a graphic it could should put some text there saying why it failed (i.e. the ogc exception, or if not ideally the java exception but in non-Java ).

(Addendum - maybe the results of the “validation” could be moved here too. Currently they constantly require I scroll to the top of the page to see).

Done properly and integrated with the validator, this would make the Style editor very powerful.
