In order to avoid problems with unescaped chars in requests sent via cURL and/or curl-implementations in PHP, I have written 2 more paragraphs in doc/en/user/source/rest/examples/curl.rst (file attached).
It is not perfectly the best solution, for it is somewhat hidden in the rest-section while it applies to many other use-cases too. So I would like to write an entirely new page for the tutorials-section to cover the use of curl in PHP to send requests, including some hints on how to append cql-filters and how to use the csv-output of wfs. If this should be welcome
