“Validate connection” isn’t working for Oracle NG datastore

Description:

Even when you check the checkbox “Validate connection” in the Oracle NG configuration, you don’t see any validation queries going to the database when monitoring the database (checked using the oracle v$sql system view).

With a Oracle NG (JNDI) datastore the connection validation works like a charm though.
