Allowing customization of coverage band details on layer configuration would be a nice improvement. Right now, you can only specify the unit of the band. It would be good to also override the band name (as an instance, “elevation” instead of “GRAY_INDEX” for a DEM), the null values (force them to some value, as an instance, -999), as well as the range of valid values.
