The example:

     &lt;dependency&gt;
       &lt;groupId&gt;org.geoserver&lt;/groupId&gt;
       &lt;artifactId&gt;main&lt;/artifactId&gt;
       &lt;version&gt;2.6-SNAPSHOT&lt;/version&gt;
       &lt;classifier&gt;tests&lt;/classifier&gt;
       &lt;scope&gt;test&lt;/scope&gt;
     &lt;/dependency&gt;

Should be changed to use gs-main

This is a general issue, searching docs for <artifactId> should do it.
