After a layer’s cache is disabled, when you return in the UI it is enabled again.

  1. Go to Tile Layers
  2. Click on any of the tile layers in the list to open settings
  3. Disable Enable tile caching for this layer
  4. Click Save
  5. The Tile Layers list will show the layer as disabled
  6. Click on the same layer again to enter the settings
  7. The Enable tile caching for this layer box is checked again
  8. At this point Cancel will leave it disabled and Save will enable it
