When building geoserver 2.5.4 with geosearch extension enabled, there’s a conflict with REST calls.

I get a 404 return code on /rest/layers.xml or /rest/workspaces.xml while /rest/layers & /rest/workspaces works fine. The error log seems to point to a geosearch codepath:

> 2015-01-14 16:14:09,874 ERROR [geoserver.rest] - Layer layers not found
> 2015-01-14 16:14:09,875 ERROR [geoserver.rest] -
> org.geoserver.rest.RestletException
> at org.geoserver.geosearch.rest.GeoSearchLayerFinder.findTarget(GeoSearchLayerFinder.java:66)
> at org.restlet.Finder.handle(Finder.java:268)
> at org.geoserver.rest.BeanDelegatingRestlet.handle(BeanDelegatingRestlet.java:38)
> at org.restlet.Filter.doHandle(Filter.java:105)

Other calls returning xml like /rest/settings/contact.xml work fine.
