The default behavior of the vector to raster transform is to use “direct raster rendering.” Through this path, the feature source will never use the bbox from the WMS request which can be very expensive. This can be disabled globally through the java property org.geoserver.render.raster.direct.disable (ie. run geoserver with VM argument “-Dorg.geoserver.render.raster.direct.disable=true”) but this is less desirable than changing the default behavior. |
