When a coverage reader advertises custom dimensions, even if it advertises a data type such as java.util.Date, WMS and WCS will pass on the values from the request as Strings. One could suggest to let the coverage readers parse it themselves, but Time and Elevation are parsed in GeoServer, and in order to be consistent it would better happen in the same way. |
