When using Geoserver 2.12.x with Monitoring plugin (monitor-hibernate-plugin and monitor-plugin installed) this issues arise:

  • geoserver index page (for example http://localhost:8080/geoserver) doesn’t redirect to geoserver/web, instead of thate gwc home page is displayed
  • http://localhost:8080/geoserver/gwc and also REST and services are unavailable with HTTP 404 error and “No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/geoserver/gwc] in DispatcherServlet with name ‘dispatcher’” in catalina log
  • GWC seed pages are not available from Geoserver admin page

Since I have more plugins installed, i suppose some other plugins can have the same impact on Geoserver. I have tested this only with 2.12.x but suppose the same issue is present in 2.13.x
