I have some NetCDF files and I want to create a mosaic with them.
I create a mosaic and a coverageview and it works.
Then I want to remove a file from the mosaic, I want keep the file but remove it from the mosaic in order to re-add it later.
The /index/granules rest page shows each netcdf band so I have to issue a DELETE request for each one.
For example the fid is fid=“coveragename.bandname.1”
A simple DELETE request will remove the file from the mosaic but the netcdf indexes will still be in the database, same as the hidden folder with the origin.txt file with the same name as the netcdf file.
Using the “purge=metadata” option in the DELETE request will result in the same effect (granule removed, but indexes still in place) but the log will show up the following error multiple times:

To Reproduce:
- Download the 2.14.x nightly bin package
- Download the 2.14.x nightly NetCDF plugin
- Prepare a PostGIS database with 2 schemas: mosaic_idx and netcdf_idx
- Prepare a datastore.properties file to use the mosaic_idx schema
- Prepare a netcdf.properties file to use the netcdf_dx schema
- Prepare an auxiliary file for the mosaic as the NetCDF files have multiple bands
- Prepare the indexer to: index the correct folder, use the auxiliary file and the AuxiliaryDatastoreFile
- Start GeoServer with the NetCDF plugin
- Create a new ImageMosaic Store “test”
- Select the indexer folder
- Create a coverageview “sosi”, select all bands
- Note the granules are listed in the /rest/workspaces/cite/coveragestores/test/coverages/sosi/index/granules
