To reproduce:

  • install fresh Geoserver (confirmed both on Linux and Windows)
  • install netcdf extension

Attached nc file is a valid coarse/CF epsg:28992 netcdf with a time and a z dimension.

Trying to create a netcdf store from it OUTSIDE the geoserver_data_dir fails.

But as soon as you move the exact same netcdf file somewhere inside the geoserver_data_dir creation of the store + layers + dimensions works!

Not sure if this is a known issue, but as the gui of the creation of a netcdf store is able to browse to your home dir etc it would be better if this worked, OR this possibility is removed (so only browsing inside the geoserver_data_dir is possible)?
