I found a number of references to OracleJDK, including download links, in the documentation and readme files.

  • Consistently recommend Java 8 or Java 11
  • Corrected to recommend OpenJDK (OpenJDK, Linux distribution, or AdoptOpenJDK for windows or macOS installers)

I also took this opportunity to:

  • Indicate we build on Java 8 at the time of writing
  • Remove outdated Eclipse IDE instructions (trusting our developer guide to cover this)
  • Remove recommendation of GitHub Windows Client (it no longer manages git command line tools for you)
  • Fix a few broken links
