I recently generated a set of GoeTiff raster files with gdal with the idea to serve them with GeoServer.
I generated them as 32 bit floating point, with 16 bits used, by setting the -co NBITS=16 option.
This was done to save disk spaces, as limited precision is acceptable in my project.

However, GeoServer (tested: 2.15.2, 2.16.2) consider the files as Uint16, and logically the data values as output by GeoServer are wrong.
I think Supporting this "half precision"floating point files would be useful.
