WCS 2.0 Request Fails on WMST Layers

Steps to reproduce:

1. add attached files as imagemosaic
2. enable time dimension
3. Make a wcs request like below using the demo requests

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wcs?SERVICE=WCS&REQUEST=GetCoverage&VERSION=2.0.1&CoverageId=cite:chirps_global_pentad_data&compression=LZW&tiling=true&tileheight=256&tilewidth=256

What happens is the above returns
“Failed to read the coverage cite:chirps_global_pentad_data”

chirps_global_pentad_data.zip geoserver.log

I believe this is a bug and the Exception is a special case inside of the file

Let me know if I can provide any more information. I have tested across several datasets+projections but I still see the same message.
