Steps to reproduce:

  • Set up a SQL view without making it guess the geometry type, make the view uses Geometry.
  • Save the view definition and the layer
  • Go back to the layer definition, update the SQL view definition, make it guess the geometry type this time, make sure it updates the geometry type to something other than Geometry (e.g., Point)
  • Update the view definition, going back to the layer page
  • The geometry type in the feature type table is still Geometry.
