Hi List,
Is it possible to allow a ticket creator on Jira to edit the attributes of a ticket where they’re the reporter? This is fairly common in most ticketing systems but JIRA doesn’t seem to let me do it.
I’d like to be able to update my tickets to new categorisation, “priority” (typically down) and “affected version” where applicable but can’t do so.
Jonathan

As far as I know to do that you’d have to be recognized by Jira as a developer, e.g., someone that the issues can be assigned to

I asked on the JIRA community forum as to whether it was possible and the response was:
“You modify the permission scheme to add Reporter under Edit permissions.”
So apparently it is possible.
I think it’d be worth doing; it’d allow the more active reporters to edit their tickets and ensure they’re up-to-date, helping remove some of that particular onus from the devs.
