I'm trying to build the geotools trunk with maven 2.0.6, but i receive
a build error, something like:
[BUILD ERROR]org.geotools.maven:gt2.xmlcodegen; plugin missing or of
an invalid version
I've take a look at the org.geotools.maven:gt2-xmlcodegen folder in my
m2-repo, and contains only a file called maven-metadata-central.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><metadata>
<groupId>org.geotools.maven</groupId>
<artifactId>gt2-xmlcodegen</artifactId>
</metadata>
I've tried to copy manually the 2.5-SNAPSHOT and the 2.4-SNAPSHOT from
http://maven.geotools.fr/repository/org/geotools/maven/gt2-xmlcodegen/
but nothing changes
Any suggestions?

Hum, where are you starting the build from? The root, or from modules?
The sources for that plugin are in build/maven, if you build from
the root it should be included in the build and compiled before
any other modules needing it.
Cheers
Andrea

I've launched the mvn compile from geotools trunk root

build/maven?
no folder like this in my repository... maybe I've forget some steps
(but I've read the developer guide...)?

you should have them in your geotools checkout, here is the root
a trunk checkout:
http://svn.geotools.org/geotools/trunk/gt/
Cheers

I try to obtain the trunk, but it's unclear for me how to use this...
i must build geotools and then copy the xmlcodegen in maven
repository?
Sorry, I'm a maven newbie, but the geoserver build tutorial not talks
about it...

If you build from the geotools checkout all modules should be
compiled, tested, packaged in jars and saved into the repository.
That includes xmlcodegen.
Cheers

Ciao
Andrea

mvn clean install on build\maven folder is completed successfully,
then also mvn compile is built successfully
Now i try to build geoserver...
thanks in any case for support
P.S: Ma sei italiano? Se non sei italiano, lo scrivi veramente bene

Geoserver also is compiled correctly.
mvn install fails due to some tests that fails (it's perfectly
acceptable in a trunk), i could search for a mvn command to disable
tests...
