[Geoserver-devel] maven repo update (I am stuck)

quick update before I turn in for the day.

geotools seem on ares and locally.

Ares has gotten stuck on geowebcache:

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project gwc-georss: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.geowebcache:gwc-georss:jar:1.9-SNAPSHOT: Failed to collect dependencies for [org.geowebcache:gwc-core:jar:1.9-SNAPSHOT (compile), com.vividsolutions:jts:jar:1.13 (compile), org.geotools:gt-coverage:jar:15-SNAPSHOT (compile), stax:stax-api:jar:1.0.1 (compile), stax:stax:jar:1.2.0 (compile), junit:junit:jar:4.11 (test), org.geowebcache:gwc-core:jar:tests:1.9-SNAPSHOT (test)]: Failed to read artifact descriptor for org.geotools:gt-coverage:jar:15-SNAPSHOT: Could not transfer artifact

More seriously building geoserver locally now fails:

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project gs-monitor-core: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.geoserver.extension:gs-monitor-core:jar:2.9-SNAPSHOT: Could not find artifact com.maxmind:geoip:jar:1.2.3 in boundlessgeo (https://boundless.artifactoryonline.com/boundless/main) → [Help 1]

I had understood that the contents of the previous repo had been collected, based on the above message I appear to be stuck for the evening and will need to regroup for tomorrow.

Hum... it's here:
https://boundless.artifactoryonline.com/boundless/main/org/geotools/gt-coverage/15-SNAPSHOT/

More seriously building geoserver locally now fails:

This jar is not in the repository indeed. And it's not in central either,
there is a similar jar here:
http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.maxmind.geoip/geoip-api/1.2.10

But it seems that is deprecated and a geoip2 is its replacement:
http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.maxmind.geoip2/geoip2

Cheers
Andrea

I am now unstuck (cache of previous repository restored).

Not sure - it may of just been a build order issue. After geotools builds on ares I think both geowebcache and geoserver are scheduled concurrently.

I am finding quite a few dependencies that could be updated (such as jpython), however that won’t help our stable and maintenance branches. One thing I am noticing is that projects have gotten better at locating themselves in maven, and we had “personally” loaded some of these dependencies in our repository before (for things like python 2.5.0).

Yes, that'a a sore point, we have a lot of outdated dependencies.
Trouble is finding some that would sponsor the upgrades to more recent
versions...

Maybe after the Wicket upgrade sprint we could do another one for other
upgrades (H2 comes to mind, be we really have a ton)

Cheers
