[Geoserver-devel] Min and Max scale for WMS Layers

Dear list,

Since, the only way to apply filtering based on map scale is through SLD, Cascaded WMS Layers miss out on this capability. Would`nt it be nice to have a min/max scale text fields in UI that be used to skip making remote calls at un-required map scale.

regards,
Imran

Seems like a useful addition, providing a bit of control over the remote server activity, which might provide unsuitable/not useful imagery at the wrong scale range, or simply take too much time to respond
due to misconfiguration/lack of optimization. A reminder, thanks to to recent work, once can choose the remote style to be used, but not a local style (that was never the case, even before it).

Cheers
Andrea
