[Geoserver-devel] MySQL and 1.6.x version

Hi all!

I am trying to use MySQL extension for Geoserver without success.

I downloaded the latest branch version for developers and the latest stable
version on executable format, but on both, when I extract the contents of
the archive into the WEB-INF/lib , I can´t create MySQL datastores, the
option dont appear in the combo box.

Another problem is when trying to install 1.6.x version for Developers. I
get an error with 1.6.6 Snapshot repository when Maven tries to download
it. I have searched the maven repositories but I can´t find it.

Could you help me in some way? Thank you in advance

It's unfortunately difficult to help you out today. GS 1.6.x has been
out of development for over a year now. Also, the MySQL extension has
been mostly unmaintained for longer than one year, it's difficult
to find people interested in working on it given the small set
of spatial functionalities it offers.

Would you be interested in helping out with the MySQL datastore
for GeoServer 2.0? GS 2.0 is where all the active development is
happening and we could really enjoy the help of someone that
is knowledgeable and interested in using MySQL.

Cheers
Andrea
