[Geoserver-devel] New community module: WCS Metoc metadata profile support

Hi,
I’m proposing a new community module, that will implement part of the
current WCS 2.0 Metoc metadata support, in particular, the ability
to classify phenomenons and unit of measure according to the WMO
tables.

The specification not published, and is still quite a bit in flux, but at
least this metadata part seems to be clear enough, we’ll have a UI
to fill in the details, possibly some auto-filling based on NeCDF
metadata when possible/available, and a plugin to enrich
the DescribeCoverage output (using the same machinery as
the available WCS EO community module).

Sounds Good Andrea, if this is going to be a pattern (first WCS EO metadata, then Metoc metadata) then we may have some room to factor out common code or something …

So far, exactly nothing, the two specs even share a notion of coverage
collection that they managed to
implement in a completely incompatible way :-p
The collection bit is something that I'm actually _not_ going to implement
for the metoc metadata part
because it's imho very likely to be modified before it gets final.

So far, exactly nothing, the two specs even share a notion of coverage collection that they managed to
implement in a completely incompatible way :-p
The collection bit is something that I’m actually not going to implement for the metoc metadata part
because it’s imho very likely to be modified before it gets final.
