Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I made an 'experimental'
download section, to draw more attention to the work being done on
branches.
Alessio, I put the 0.2 WCS branch on there. Sorry for not doing much in
the way of announcements when you first put it out, was swamped with
stuff and computer was broken. When's the plan for the next release?
I'll be sure to do a freshmeat announcement and all, and put it on the
frontpage.
Gabriel, when you're ready for the Complex release, we can put it up on
the experimental page as well.
Also, people may have noticed that the sourceforge page is now dead. It
was giving errors due to a mysql upgrade on the sf backend. So I just
killed it and pointed it at the docs page. We've also got
geoserver.org going, pointing at the same page. May try to do
something like geotools, with a nice front end.
Simone is setting up a Coverage branch on GeoTools. As soon as he commits his new changes on GeoTiff and GRIB packages, we can have another cool release of GeoServer-WCS wich will have almost all the 2D raster functionalities … I just have to find some time to implement the band select.
Then for the next few monts we will work with the USDA guys and Martin on 5D rasters.

Excellent, I look forward to it. I did a little write-up on the WCS
branch: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOS/Experimental If you
could update it with what data formats are supported that would be
great, I'm never sure. Sometime we should also start a section on
docs, even if it's just 'everything is the same, use the web admin tool
to also do x,y and z'
Then for the next few monts we will work with the USDA guys and
Martin on 5D
rasters.
Awesome.
best regards,
Chris
